If I could rate it a 0 I would. This is shocking. My husband, daughter and I went to Bugatti's in West Linn on New Years Eve. There was a big snow and most people were staying home, but we lived three blocks away so we thought we would give it a try. We had really wanted to go to La Provance, but we were told we wouldn't get in.

My husband went ahead to secure a table. He was there about 1.5- 2 hours waiting for a seat. When my daughter and I arrived (we waited back at the house) there was confusion and the hostess told us she did not have a table and that my husband never made a reservation (which was a clear falsehood). I was very annoyed and walked into the bar to where my husband was seated. He said there had been a table in the dining room (a few actually but one in particular) and he would see why they weren't seating us there. Before he could get up the manager walked over and made a VERY loud, and rude accusation about us causing a problem. He said he had a seat out on the side patio. If you have ever seen the side patio it looks like a pizza parlor, is cold, and only seats a few tables. Not a place you want to eat and pay those prices for. We asked about the tables in the dining room and he said reservations were MONTHS in advance (yet it had been almost 2.5 hours and no one had been at those tables). I have worked in the restaurant business and if you are holding a 4 top and a party of three comes in, after a reasonable length of time (30 minutes) you give them the table. They did not. They ended up giving us a small table for two, we didn't even have room for my daughters place setting, squeezed onto the COLD patio by the street, with PLASTIC sheeting for walls, and cars driving by, cold air blowing on our legs, it was a skit right out of SNL...and no heat mind you! They turned OFF the heater (we suspect in passive retaliation) when they seated us, and the other people at the tables next to us told us they were freezing and couldn't figure out why they would turn the heater off. Now here is the shocker...once we were seated my daughter WHO IS A DIFFERENT NATIONALITY than us, and doesn't look like us, told us as she was standing at the door waiting for me to come back, the manager said to the hostess we were azzwholes and we were going to take whatever the worst table is and if we didn't like it he would "throw us out". There were a few other things he said that were quite offensive and too rude to relate. Needless to say the hostess realized my 20 year old daughter was standing there and told the manager she was our daughter and to stop talking because she was listening. He stopped in his tracks and walked away, (no apology) having been caught being absolutely obnoxious and unreasonable. Once we were seated my daughter WITH TEARY EYES relayed this to us and my husband, who is about the most laid back guy I know, stood up and said we were leaving. He was appalled especially since he had been waiting for so long and by this time it had been 3 HOURS and that table had STILL not been sat. It was a humiliating experience, my daughter was crying after we left, and it was all unnecessary. We will never return, being three blocks away they have lost our business as well as our trust. If people like that are at the helm, who knows what meat they drop on the floor and throw in your dish, or what unwashed hands are handling your food. Bottom line, they are not deserving of our patronage.

THE GOOD NEWS is that we went to La Provance and because there was a big snow it was easy to get seated. We were treated like royalty (as usual) and the food was fantastic. We relayed all this to anyone who would listen. Karma Buggatis. We weren't asking for a lot, we were just asking to be seated at a table that was open (there were actually two open tables) for three hours. We could have come and gone in that time.
